A PhD position at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen, Department of Molecular Neurobiology of Behavior (Prof. André Fiala) is available in the project

Neuronal mechanisms of operant behavior and operant learning in Drosophila”.

The project combines optical calcium imaging, optogenetic tools, molecular biological techniques and behavioral experiments. We aim at deciphering neuronal circuits underlying operant behavior and operant learning in the model organism Drosophila melanogaster. The ideal candidate holds a Master or a Diploma degree in Biology, Neuroscience or a related area. Experience in Drosophila neurobiology would be advantageous.

The Department of Molecular Neurobiology of Behavior, located at the European Neuroscience Institute, is embedded into a strong neuroscientific research campus. Working facilities are excellent, and we offer excellent mentoring and supervision, an international work environment and enrollment into a structured PhD program. Funding of the PhD project is for 3 years.

The University of Göttingen is an equal opportunity employer encouraging female scientists and scientists with disabilities to apply.

Please send application documents in copy without folder or by email. They will be destroyed after a retention period.
