Postdoctoral Researcher (Ecologist) Ref. #01-09021

The successful candidate will join a highly motivated team of 20 scientists and research support staff who are working at the Senckenberg Research Station Gelnhausen (close to Frankfurt) on a variety of topics in (stream/floodplain) ecology, conservation and evolutionary biology. Candidates must hold a PhD, have a strong track record of international publications, and a background in ecology and/or limnology. Candidates should have experience with project planning, acquisition, management and data analyses using statistical and non-molecular methods. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research programme, to manage projects, analyse large data sets, and to advise graduate students. We are seeking an individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills who is willing to co-operate with other research groups at Senckenberg, the University of Frankfurt, and the Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre (BiK-F).

The position is full time. Salary is based on BAT IIa. The position is available from October 1st. Initial employment is for up to two years with a possible extension being subject to personal performance and availability of funds.
