Applicants should have a record of excellence in the field of experimental aquatic ecology. Preference will be given to applicants with research programs that include evolutionary questions and facilitate cooperation within the faculty and with other research institutions. In exceptional cases involving outstanding qualifications, the appointment may be permanent from the beginning.

Applicants must be younger than 52 at the time of appointment. Exceptions to this rule may be considered if outstanding.

The University of Munich is interested in increasing the number of female faculty members and encourages women to apply. The University supports dual career couples.

Applications including CV, list of publications, a brief summary of present and future research interests (also with respect to the station in Seeon), proof of teaching experience, five selected reprints and copies of relevant documents should be sent in printed form and as a CD-ROM before 20.11.2009 to the Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Prof. Dr. Benedikt Grothe, Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich, Großhaderner Str. 2, 82152 Planegg-Martinsried, Germany.
