The Oxford Silk Research Group in the Department of Zoology is inviting applications for a
2-year Post-Doctoral Research Assistant to commence in the Summer of 2010. This post is funded by the ERC. Salary £28, 839 - £35, 469 p.a.
The successful applicant will join a project that investigates silk proteins and their adaptations for flow processing i.e. for spinning. The proposed work will stand upon previous work by our group and others on the structure-property relationships of silk in both its solution- and solid-states and will involve using a range of state-of-the-art analytical techniques mostly available in-house.
Due to its interdisciplinary nature this project would suit an academic with a background in experimental/analytical chemistry and acute understanding of contemporary issues in protein folding.
