The JFB-Institut für Zoologie and Anthropologie at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is offering a Postdoc position in the Scientific Project of the CRC 990 "Ecological and Socioeconomic Functions of Tropical Lowland Rainforest Transformation Systems (Sumatra, Indonesia)"

Z02 / Central scientific support unit

The position will be limited to 3 years and should be filled as soon as possible. Salary: Pay grade 100% TV-L 13 of German state regulated public service salary scale.

Your duties

The Central scientific support unit is responsible for the organization and collection of background data on flora, fauna and climate. The applicant is expected to support and organize sampling of aboveground arthropod communities and species determination, and to function as focal point and interface for collaboration with collections and museums, including management of issues related to the Convention on Biological Diversity within the CRC.

Your profile

The applicant should hold a PhD in zoology, ecology or related fields, have a research focus on insects and is willing to collaborate with other researchers of the CRC, is proficient in English, and has the willingness and ability to work in the tropics.

This post is designed to serve in fostering young researchers and scientists and give the successful applicant the opportunity to pursue a post-doctoral degree.

The project will be based in Göttingen, but fieldwork is done in Indonesia.
