IPY-Oslo Science Conference

5.1 - New Frontiers and Directions in Biology, Ecology and Biodiversity

We would like to draw your attention to the Session T5-1: “New Frontiers and Directions in Biology, Ecology and Biodiversity “at the Oslo IPY Science Conference taking place from 8-12 June 2010 in Oslo, Norway. Within this session it is our goal to combine the vast variety of challenges polar research is already, and will stronger be facing in the near future, and especially in an interdisciplinary context.This session will cover the many facets of biological research conducted in the Arctic and Antarctic during IPY and beyond. Where possible comparisons between the two polar regions will be drawn. New molecular and telemetric techniques have been widely used during IPY and insights gained into speciation and habitat utilisation will be discussed. “

We look forward to gathering the vast variety of New Frontiers in Biology, Ecology and Biodiversity and discuss the overarching future directions.
