Section Systematics, Biogeography & Diversity

Our specialist group deals interdisciplinarily with the sub-disciplines of zoological systematics, taxonomy and phylogenetics. We have set ourselves the goal of integrating classical systematics more closely into current research topics and highlighting its significance for biodiversity research. Other important focal points are the mediation between morphological & molecular data collection & data analysis.

In addition to actively participating in the DZG’s annual meeting, our activities include the organization of workshops and graduate meetings. In particular, we would like to offer young scientists a forum to present their research work & own results and promote the exchange of information on current methods and issues.

Information on current topics & events of our specialist group are announced on the homepage. It is also possible to register for the specialist group’s newsletter here. The specialist group speakers are always available for further information.
